Pre-Farewell[edit | edit source]

Hidden rooms in Prologue[edit | edit source]

The starting screen and the screen above, separated by a white line.

There are two rooms in Prologue outside of the main path:

  • The first can be accessed by going left at the first screen. It has a collapsed driveway and an intro car. Cheat Mode can be unlocked from there. The room's code name is -1.
  • The second is located above the starting screen. It contains colorful birds that fly away when Madeline approaches, and does not affect gameplay in any way. The room's name in code is 0b.

Hidden room in 3B[edit | edit source]

Celestial Resort B-Side has a hidden room to the left of the starting screen, named back. It is very long and has an island with colorful birds and binos to preview it. Reaching the island is impossible without assist, variant, or debug mode.

Crystal Heart in 4A[edit | edit source]

A white block can be found at the bottom of the Crystal Heart room in Golden Ridge A-Side that looks identical to that found in World 1-3 of Super Mario Bros. 3. In Mario, holding 'down' on that block for a while will drop you through it and into the background of the level.

Similarly, crouching on the white block in Celeste will drop you through it, allowing Madeline to hop on the background art as if it were solid to climb up and reach the Crystal Heart. This effect is disabled when you leave the room or grab the Crystal Heart.

Hidden island in 5B[edit | edit source]

If you go left on the first bubble of Mirror Temple B-Side, you will find yourself on a small island with colorful birds and a red bubble leading out. This island was added to prevent colliding with the room border and falling.

Secret room in 6A[edit | edit source]

A reference room in Reflection

In Reflection A-Side, at the very start of the Reflection checkpoint, after the cutscene with Granny, you can take the path upwards. By traversing the tricky room there, requiring wallbounces and dash tech (and the game hasn't taught either), you can find the secret room with several entities.

Farewell and post-Farewell[edit | edit source]

Debug Mode[edit | edit source]

It is possible to teleport to the very right side through Debug Mode in the first room. It contains a giant box with the text "DEBUG MODE :)", an intro car, a snake made out of red and green bubbles, and a bunch of other decals at the top. If the player goes back to the left, they can activate a secret dialog in which Granny says: "I see you have discovered Debug Mode". This is because the player doesn't activate a trigger right before reaching Granny, which changes the room's appearance.

Kevin Room ARG[edit | edit source]

Kevin Room

The final room of Event Horizon features a small hidden area with three inaccessible Kevin blocks and a house surrounded by spinners, containing a monitor and two speakers. They play back a weird sound, which is part of an ARG (alternate reality game).

The sound reveals various images and hints that had to be opened through a spectrogram in a specific way. If the glitch files are put together in the proper order, it would reveal a big list of nicknames of people notable in the Celeste community.

Madeline's room[edit | edit source]

Madeline in bed in her room

Several easter eggs are present in Madeline's room, two screens of which are shown in Farewell's ending cutscene. The easter eggs here include:

  • Pictures of Madeline, her mom, Granny and Mount Celeste
  • Pills, most likely HRT or antidepressants
  • Journal
  • Rainbow and trans pride flags
