This list catalogs and briefly describes (if the name is not descriptive enough) the most-used templates on Celeste Wiki in logical-alphabetical order. For more details, check the documentation pages and look for use examples (press "What links here" on the template's page). Some templates may be listed multiple times if they have multiple different use cases. You may also want to browse Category:Templates or use your browser's Search function (default: Ctrl+F).
Linking templates[edit | edit source]
Templates to simplify linking between pages or websites.
Pages with similar name or content[edit | edit source]
- Template:Hatnote — custom
- Template:About to avoid confusion between similarly-named pages. Example: This page is about Topic1. For Topic2, see Article2. For other uses, see Topic (disambiguation).
- Template:Disambig to signify the disambiguation page.
- Template:For also to avoid confusion (but it's shorter). Example: For Topic2, see Article2.
- Template:Further if you want the reader to browse more so they hopefully get where they wanted.
- Template:Main to link readers to a main page on that topic (used in subparagraphs or category pages).
- Template:See also to link to pages with similar topics.
Links to chapters[edit | edit source]
- Template:Ch to link to chapters (so
{{ch|1A|2A}}
gives 1A • 2A).- Template:Chb, Template:Chn and Template:Cho are backends for this template.
- Template:Levelselectsmall as a sort-of list of vanilla chapters, used in every chapter page.
Redirect helpers[edit | edit source]
- Template:Soft redirect to make a soft redirect (if a hard one won't do).
Citations[edit | edit source]
- Template:Cite web.
- Template:Cite tweet.
- Template:Reflist to indicate the location of references.
Interwiki[edit | edit source]
- Template:w links to a Wikipedia article and makes the text green. You can also use interwiki links ([[w:Wikipedia]]).
- Template:Wikipedia links to Wikipedia (form similar to a userbox)
- Template:Wikipediapar links to Wikipedia with a random message.
- Template:Interwiki-ru for interwikis to the Russian Celeste Wiki.
Other websites[edit | edit source]
- Template:Ivd to replace Youtube video ID with link to w:Invidious.
Category browsing[edit | edit source]
- Template:CatBrowser shows an alphabet and clicking on a letter shows categories beginning with that letter. It also has a Random category button.
- Template:CatChapter for navigation between chapter categories or similar.
- Template:Difficulty categories for easy warps between maps by difficulty categories. Supports collab lobby categories!
Other[edit | edit source]
- Template:Dpage links to a page with the chapter's dialogues.
- Template:u (deprecated) linked to a user page. Please use the pipe trick ([[User:Nickname|]]) instead.
- Template:Sandboxpar links to the page's sandbox.
- Template:Template link (alias: Template:tl) links to a template and wraps it in double curly braces.
Notice templates[edit | edit source]
Leave some notes about the article. They may or may not be in the form of an ambox.

Markers[edit | edit source]

Article warnings and issues[edit | edit source]
- Template:Stub for articles you don't plan to finish soon.
- Template:Construction for unfinished pages, paragraphs, or sections that you plan to finish soon.
- Template:Changing for pages that can quickly become outdated.
- Template:QD to mark the page for quick deletion
- Template:Raw port for raw ports from other wikis.
- Template:Raw port sj (not for use in new articles) for raw ports from the Strawberry Jam Collab Fandom wiki.
Instruction templates[edit | edit source]
Instruct the user on how to use a page of some sort.
- Template:Dialogues for dialogue pages.
- Template:Talkwarn for talk pages.
- Template:Documentation to include documentation in templates.
Statistics templates[edit | edit source]
Templates that show statistics of the wiki, the game, or the mod.
- Template:Vhist displays the current version of Celeste on various platforms (not all of them because Celeste is picky)
- Template:Cver console, Template:Cver itch, and Template:Cver steam supply the version number.
Substitution templates[edit | edit source]
These templates paste some text either to make life easier for editors or if their message is to be changed, this message should be changed everywhere it's used.

Item (emoji) templates[edit | edit source]
They insert a letter-sized picture of something.
Symbol templates[edit | edit source]
These templates insert a symbol or a few symbols, possibly because they conflict with wiki markup. Do not use them unless the plaintext variant breaks the page.
- Template:0027 adds an apostrophe.
- Template:Bull (alias: Template:•) produces •
- Template:Colon inserts a colon :
- Template:Em dash produces a long dash —
- Template:(( produces double left curly braces {{; Template:)) produces double right curly braces }}.
Soundtrack templates[edit | edit source]
These templates are used to list and link to soundtracks, either from the Celeste OST, modded soundtracks, or unrelated to Celeste.
- Template:Collab alt music for soundtracks that are in a collab but not in this collab's OST.
- Template:Soundtrack to easily cite soundtracks.
- Template:Soundtracks for referencing multiple of them.
- Template:Listen to, well, listen! Use with caution, beware of copyrights! It can support audio and video.
Formatting templates[edit | edit source]
Templates that help format or spoiler content.
Extra notes[edit | edit source]
These templates allow you to include word explanations in tooltips. They are unsupported on most devices except computers, so use them sensibly and in addition to inline expansion. Check this Wikipedia documentation page for more detail.
- Template:Abbr for clarifying abbrs or one-word condensions.
- Template:Tooltip for clarifying something not an abbreviation.
Spoilers[edit | edit source]
- Template:c (short for censored) hides the text from the user until they hover over it.
- Template:Collapse top and Template:Collapse bottom signify the start and end of the content needed to be hidden.
- Template:Spoiler inline combines these two into one.
- Template:Spoiler combines Spoiler inline and adds a notice at its top.
- Template:Spoiler minor adds a similar notice as Spoiler (and that it's minor) but does not include Spoiler inline.
- Template:Spoiler combines Spoiler inline and adds a notice at its top.
- Template:Spoiler inline combines these two into one.
Quotes[edit | edit source]
Template:Q allows you to insert a quote:
“Consistency is the last refuge of the unimaginative.”
Template:Cquote for the other kind of quotes.
Other formatting[edit | edit source]

- Template:Smallcaps makes the text smaller but in uppercase so it becomes small caps.
Talk page templates[edit | edit source]
These templates are for use in talk pages and discussions.
- Template:Talkwarn as a header in commonly-used talk pages.
- Template:Unsigned to indicate and sign unsigned comments or replies.
- Template:Welcome (deprecated, might change later) adds a welcoming message.
Voting templates[edit | edit source]
Templates for voting of all kinds.
- Template:Va Against.
- Template:Vf For.
- Template:Frogeline Frog.
- Template:S for keeping track of score.
Infobox templates[edit | edit source]
Infoboxes of some sort are used on more than half of all main namespace pages, so consider using them too. You may also request one to be added! Please note that all infoboxes must start with Infobox.
Every infobox template has its fields (and short explanations for some in tooltips) listed below for your convenience. Although in most use cases only one infobox is appropriate, you can choose what suits your needs best. Feel free to experiment! Technical fields (like to circumvent categorization) are not listed, but you can find them on the respective documentation pages.

Userboxes are small templates you can put on your user page, and they say something about your personality, accomplishments, and so on. You can create one too! Note that all userboxes must start with Userbox.

- Template:Imageswitch switches an image to another one when the user clicks a certain button (currently unused).

- Template:TemplateData header to indicate the position of TemplateData on a documentation page.
