Interesting Technique[edit source]

After playing a bit of Farewell, I'd come across a strange technique I have yet to find out the name of. I dashed down diagonally through a Dream Block, and subsequently performed a wavedash after leaving the bottom of the Dream Block. I might be stupid, but anyone have any idea what this is? If you guys can't replicate it, I could be wrong or misleading in my explanation. Thanks! I hope I can find what this technique is called. I'd become recently in need of a name for it because I was trying to mention it to someone but didn't know what to call it by.

This is known as a dream hyper. When exiting a dream block (in a non-pure-vertical direction) the game gives you 6 frames of "grounded" state which is what allows Dream Jumps to work. However, if you press dash and jump "at the same time" (at the same time, or, within the freeze frames of the dash execution, so it's actually a 4-frame window) you can get a super or hyper (getting a hyper just means dashing in a crouched state, which usually means dashing downdiagonally), and these are known as dream supers/dream hypers.
