This is the place where Celeste Wiki users choose and vote for the most qualified users to be given the strawberry of power. Additionally, this is the place for votes to remove sysop and bureaucrat status from a user.

  • All votes end 3 days after they are started. For example, if a vote were to start on January 15th, the vote will end on January 18th.
  • This time requirement may be waived by any bureaucrat for any non-bureaucrat vote.
  • Bureaucrat voting time cannot be waived, except by User:Celeste.

Rules for sysop and bureaucrat votes

  • You may nominate whomever you want, as long as they are at least 90 days old and have 500 constructive or otherwise helpful edits, for admin. You may nominate any admin for bureaucrat.
  • You may nominate whomever you want, as long as they are registered and have basic knowledge of either MediaWiki or Celeste (the game). (This is an interim rule.)
  • Only registered users whose accounts are at least 30 days old and have 100 constructive or otherwise helpful edits may nominate administrators.
  • Any registered user may vote. (This is an interim rule.)
  • No self-nominations are allowed, under any circumstances, for administrator and bureaucrat permissions.
  • VFS only works locally. It does not grant anyone global sysop or steward status.

The process

Rules for de-op votes

  • Only established users, per the above qualifications, may nominate an administrator to be de-opped.
  • Be professional, and lay out your case for de-opping clearly and with evidence of their supposed wrongdoing uploaded to Uncyclopedia, and linked in your nomination.
  • For a de-op to be successful, at least 60% of votes must be in favor of the motion, with at least three votes in favor of de-op.
  • Bureaucrat de-op votes will result in them being de-opped to administrator (sysop only) status. Another de-op should be implemented if a user wishes to rid a bureaucrat of their administrative rights completely.
  • The formal de-op process may be bypassed if an account with administrative rights has been compromised, or if an admin has clearly "gone rogue".
  • Self de-ops can be done on your own (for sysops who aren't bureaucrats), or by messaging Celeste or a Miraheze steward (for bureaucrats).
  • Celeste, founder of this wiki, is immune to being de-opped.

Number of votes allowed per person

  • All votes are in unit increments. A user may allocate up to a certain number of votes for or against a candidate for sysop and de-op, depending on the user's status on the wiki. All voters must have an account.
  • Users with between 100 and 499 edits have 3 votes for both sysop and de-op votes, and 2 vote for bureaucrat votes.
  • Users with between 500 and 2,499 edits have 4 votes for sysop votes, and 3 votes for both de-op and bureaucrat votes.
  • Users with 2,500 edits or more have 4 votes for sysop, de-op and bureaucrat votes.
  • Admins, regardless of edit count, have 5 votes for sysop votes, 3 votes for de-op votes, and 4 votes for bureaucrat votes.
  • Bureaucrats, regardless of edit count, have 6 votes for sysop votes, 3 votes for de-op votes, and 4 votes for bureaucrat votes.
  • Miraheze global sysops automatically have the same number of votes as local administrators (sysops) here.
  • Miraheze stewards automatically have the same number of votes as bureaucrats here.
  • Celeste may invoke up to 20 de-op votes, but will otherwise not participate in VFS elections, except when a candidate is controversial (between -5 and +5 votes), as a tiebreaker.

NB: Celeste may change these rules at any time for any reason to help the fight against wiki-terrorism. Feel free to discuss the rules at VFS's talk page, if you wish to reform them to make them more "fair".

Usage

  • Do nothing, it's automatic now.
