Water is a mechanic in Celeste, mostly featured in Reflection. While in it, Madeline can move freely in all eight directions and her dash is immediately refilled upon use. Madeline is able to stay in water indefinitely, not having to replenish air. However, some modded versions of water exist that remove this capability.
