Lönn (sometimes spelled Lonn or Loenn) is a map-making GUI program used by the Celeste modding community, created as a successor of Ahorn due to the technical restrictions surrounding it. Lönn features a suite of tools to assist with map creation, such as support for custom entities, plugins, tilesets, and decals. Lönn is maintained by Vexatos and Cruor on a public GitHub page. Lönn itself, as well as all user-created plugins are written in the Lua programming language.
History[edit | edit source]
The first public release of Lönn was published on July 12th, 2019, version Alpha 0.0.1.
Lönn reached the beta stage approximately two years later with the release of version 0.1.0 on December 15th 2021, officially replacing Ahorn. It was promoted with several notable improvements over its predecessor[1], including faster launch and install times, as well as a simpler plugin development process.
